Busy Edinburgh road closed as SGN carry out urgent works
The road closure is in place to allow SGN to carry out urgent works, with the reopening date yet to be confirmed.
A road in Edinburgh has been closed following the start of urgent works by gas network operator SGN.
Westfield Road is fully closed between Gorgie Road and Stevenson Road from Thursday, October 29.
The closure is in place to allow SGN to carry out urgent works, with the reopening date yet to be confirmed.

Motorists travelling in the area are being urged to plan ahead and be aware of the restrictions while the works are ongoing.
It is not yet known how long the closure will remain in place or whether any further disruption is expected.
A spokesperson for the gas distribution company SGN, said: “We’re carrying out emergency repairs to our gas network in Westfield Road, Edinburgh.
“To do this safely, we’ve had to temporarily close Westfield Road at its junction with Gorgie Road. Local access is being maintained via Stevenson Road, and a signed diversion route is in place.
“We’re working as quickly and as safely as possible to make these repairs, but we are not yet able to say how long these works will take.
“We’d like to thank everyone affected for their patience, understanding and support while we carry out this essential work.”
