An ongoing police incident on Edinburgh’s Ferry Road is causing bus diversions, believed to be an unsafe tree within the police station grounds.

Pictures sent to the Evening News show police tape up around Drylaw Mains police station, with a police car sat in the car park of nearby Drylaw shopping precinct.

Lothian Buses tweeted to inform passengers of diversions to the 21, 27, 29 and 37 services.

Writing on their website, they said: “Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Ferry Road and are instead diverted via Pennywell Road, West Granton Road and West Granton Access until further notice.”

It is thought that an unsafe tree within the police station grounds is causing the disruption.

Police Scotland have been contacted and this page will be updated with more information as as soon as we have it.
