New 'Dads, Babies & Beers' group to launch at Edinburgh brewery
The idea for ‘Dads, Babies, & Beers’ came from one dad’s trip to the pub with his newborn son
A brand new community group aiming to get fathers in Edinburgh meeting “like-minded dads” and some one-on-one time with their children is launching later this month.
Dads, Babies & Beers is a new initiative set to launch its inaugural event on Wednesday, September 16 at Campervan Brewery Taproom, which is considered to be one of the best family-friendly pubs in Edinburgh.
The group will be aiming to give dads a place to meet up will fellow fathers and give their partners a break, as well as a chance to bond with their babies.

Dads, Babies & Beers has been launched by Chris Batchelor, founder of communications agency Feel Good Comms, and Joe Pratt, a field sales and customer service administrator at Campervan Brewery.
The idea came from personal experience after Chris took his newborn son Ellis to the pub to give his wife some time to herself.
During his time at the pub, Chris came made the realisation that there were many other new dads in his position looking for a way to get involved in some one-on-one time with their children and some much-needed support from those in the same position.
Chris said: “I originally just wanted to give my wife a break and get out of the house with Ellis. Whilst sitting with Ellis, I realised that there aren't many spaces or clubs specifically for dads to take their new children to, and just generally chat about what it is like to be a dad.
“This group is for guys who enjoy going out for a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic!), want to be great fathers and supportive partners, and want to get some quality one-on-one time with their kids.”
All fathers are welcomes to take part in the event. The first session will take place next Wednesday between 6pm and 8pm with weekly meetups planned thereafter.
Dads who wish to take part in the event can do so for free by turning up on the night or confirming attendance in advance by emailing [email protected]. For more information, you can visit the Feel Good Comms website.
