Edinburgh crime: Woman and pet attacked by dog in Prestonfield Avenue

A 57-year-old woman was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after being attacked by a dog in a residential street.

The incident happened at around 2.30pm in Prestonfield Avenue on Tuesday, January 14 when the woman was walking her dog. The victim’s Cairn Terrier dog was also attacked and required veterinary treatment.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward following the dog attack.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident to contact Police Scotland, quoting incident number 2042 of Tuesday, January 14.”
