A1 crash: car flips on roof in East Lothian collision

A car has come off a busy road and landed on its roof during a collision in East Lothian.

The crash, which is believed to have involved three cars, happened on the A1 in Gladsmuir, just before the Macmerry turn off.

Travel in the area is restricted as emergency services deal with the ongoing incident.

So far, it remains unclear as to whether anyone was injured in the crash.

An eye witness, who took a picture of the scene showing a car on its roof, said the collision involved two BMW vehicles.

Traffic Scotland alerted drivers to the crash by posting a message on its Twitter profile.

It read: “A1 RTC. A1 remains restricted in both directions at Gladsmuir due to RTC. Approach with care.”

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
