Hearts have made an official move to bring Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes to Tynecastle as they step up the search for Neil Critchley’s successor.
The 53-year old has delivered success with St Johnstone, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock throughout his time as a head coach in Scottish football and a big part of that has been his signings. It’s fair to say the former Rangers midfielder has a preference for UK based players which brings up the question of what that means for the current oversees players at Tynecastle and the club’s current recruitment process involving Jamestown Analytics.
Here are the 116 signings that McInnes made for Aberdeen and Kilmarnock:

73. Fraser Hornby
There was much intrigue around Hornby's move to Aberdeen with the former Everton striker having bagged plenty goals for Scotland under 21s. He managed zero for Aberdeen though during a loan spell from Reims in France and now plays for Darmstadt 98 in Germany. | SNS Group

74. Florian Kamberi
An exciting attacker who had done well with Hibs and Rangers but couldn't do much to lift a struggling Aberdeen side during a short loan spell. | SNS Group

75. Callum Hendry
A strange loan signing as he moved for the second half of the 2020/21 seasons from St Johnstone. It was a spell that wasn't necessarily poor but not all that memorable either. | SNS Group

76. Ross McCrorie
The final permanent signing of McInnes' long Aberdeen tenure was another for the positive category. They signed him on loan with mandatory £350k future fee and the now Scotland international was a solid perform during his two and a half seasons with the Dons before moving to Bristol City in 2023. | SNS Group
