Hearts have made an official move to bring Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes to Tynecastle as they step up the search for Neil Critchley’s successor.
The 53-year old has delivered success with St Johnstone, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock throughout his time as a head coach in Scottish football and a big part of that has been his signings. It’s fair to say the former Rangers midfielder has a preference for UK based players which brings up the question of what that means for the current oversees players at Tynecastle and the club’s current recruitment process involving Jamestown Analytics.
Here are the 116 signings that McInnes made for Aberdeen and Kilmarnock:

29. Neil Alexander
Arrived at Aberdeen after leaving Hearts in 2016 and spent one season there as back-up to Lewis before joining Livngston. | SNS Group

30. Callum Morris
Goes down as one of McInnes' most peculiar signings. The centre back signed a one year contract with Aberdeen after leaving Dundee United but was released after just five months and without making a single appearance. Morris would go on to play for Dunfermline Athletic and Ross County. | SNS Group

31. Anthony O'Connor
The versatile Irishman signed for Aberdeen from Burton Albion and spent two seasons in the North East. Like many before him he returned to the EFL after leaving the Dons and spent the next few years at Bradford City. | SNS Group

32. Miles Storey
An impressive loan spell at Inverness from Newport County the season before so Aberdeen move to land the English striker. He scored two goals in 15 games during his one season at Pittodrie before joining Partick Thistle. | SNS Group
