As Hibs prepare to take on Hearts in Sunday afternoon’s Scottish League Cup semi-final, manager Marink Reedijk will hoping for a better result than the last Edinburgh Derby at Hampden Park.
On 16 April, 2022, the Hibees missed out on a place in the Scottish Cup final after losing out 2-1 to their rivals. Hearts took an early lead through two long range strikes from forward Ellis Simms and defender Stephen Kingsley. Hibs managed to get a goal back through full back Chris Cadden - but a second half red card for midfielder Joe Newell scuppered any chance of a comeback.
As they now prepare for battle again, we take a trip down memory lane at the Hibs starting XI and subs from that day. From Kirkcaldy to Los Angeles and Hong Kong, here’s where they are now:

9. CM - Jake Doyle-Hayes
After four years at Hibs, the Irishman went back to his homeland in 2025 to sign for Sligo Rovers but soon left for EFL League One side Exeter City, where he's been ever since. Following his Easter Road exit, he took legal action against the club over a tackle from former boss Lee Johnson that left him requiring surgery. | SNS Group

10. ST - Ewan Henderson
Another player with Hibs in the family, the semi-final was during his Celtic loan spell before he secured a permanent move in the summer. After two seasons at Easter Road and a year at Belgian side Beerschot, he now plays alongside Macey at Wycombe Wanderers. | SNS Group

11. ST - James Scott
Hull City loanee played 19 games for Hibs during his short term spell. After subsequent stints at Exeter City and St Mirren, he signed for Hong Kong Premier League side Sha Tin in the summer. | SNS Group

12. SUB - Josh Campbell
Other than Newell, he's the only player that featured who is still employed by the club. However, he was farmed out to Premiership rivals St Johnstone on a season-long loan in September. | SNS Group
