The Edinburgh Evening News is celebrating its 150th anniversary, and to mark the occasion, we’re naming the city’s most famous faces.

Edinburgh locals might not recognise the name Eduardo Paolozzi, but they may have seen his face replicated in this mural on Henderson Street. The Leith-born artist was raised in the Capital, and studied at the Edinburgh College of Art. Paolozzi became a successful sculptor and graphic artist, who is known for being one of the founders of the Pop Art movement. Much of his iconic work can be found in the Capital, in the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. The artist died in 2005, aged 81.

The group split in the mid-80s, and he then went on to launch a solo career, with his song 'A Girl Like You' becoming a worldwide hit. He suffered a severe cerebral haemorrhage in 2005, but recovered, and was awarded an Ivor Novello Award only a few years later.

She was only the third member of the Labour Party ever to hold the office, as well as being the first Roman Catholic to hold the post since the Reformation.
