MP encourages Livingston constituency sports clubs to apply for funding
Livingston constituency MP Gregor Poynton is encouraging local sports clubs and community organisations to apply for funding through the Cash4Clubs programme, which has reopened for applications and will provide £500,000 of support to grassroots sport.

The scheme offers grants of £2,000 to help clubs purchase equipment, gain coaching qualifications and invest in their long-term sustainability. This year, 225 clubs will receive funding, while a further five clubs will be awarded transformational grants of £10,000.
Applications are open and will close on 1 January 2027, with successful organisations expected to receive funding early next year.
Cash4Clubs supports community organisations that use sport and physical activity to tackle wider social challenges, including improving physical and mental health, reducing isolation and strengthening community connections.
The programme is focused on supporting adult participation in sport and physical activity. Funding is available to organisations that support people aged 18 and over, with priority given to groups working in areas of disadvantage and those engaging under-represented communities.
Since launching in 2008, Cash4Clubs has distributed more than £7 million to grassroots sports clubs and community organisations across the UK and Ireland.
Gregor Poynton MP said:
“Grassroots sports clubs play an important role in communities across the Livingston constituency. They bring people together, support health and wellbeing, and provide opportunities for people to stay active and connected.
“Many local clubs and community organisations rely on volunteers and face significant financial pressures. Funding programmes like Cash4Clubs can help organisations invest in equipment, training and the long-term future of their activities.
“I am particularly pleased that this programme supports organisations using sport to tackle wider issues such as isolation, poor health and barriers to participation.
“I would encourage any eligible club or community organisation in the Livingston constituency to take a look at the scheme and consider applying.”
Cash4Clubs is open to not-for-profit organisations, including charities, community groups, and sports clubs. Applicants do not need to be traditional sports organisations but must be delivering, or planning to deliver, sport or physical activity for adults.
The funding is unrestricted, meaning successful applicants can decide how best to use the grant to support their activities and the people they serve.
