We've put together a gallery of Edinburgh pubs and clubs from yesteryear – and some of these photos will leave you feeling nostalgic.
Scotland's capital city has always had great boozers and a vibrant club scene – regardless of the era – and today we’re remembering some old venues that we’ve lost down the decades.
Take a look through our photo gallery to see 25 lost Edinburgh pubs and clubs – and please share your own recollections of them in the comments section before you go.

21. Massa
Massa nightclub on Market Street, July 1, 2003. Latterly known as Electric Circus before closing permanently. This was also once the site for the iconic 80s nightclub Buster Browns. Photo: Third Party

22. Bongo Club
The original Bongo Club was situated in a rather non-descript brick building next to New Street bus depot. Here it is pictured on 6 January 2000. It has since been demolished, but the Bongo Club lives on at 66 Cowgate. In between the years it was situated on Holyrood Road. Photo: Third Party

23. Caledonian Ale House
The cosy Caledonian Ale House, known as the Haymarket Station Bar until 1995, offered a unique atmosphere and was often very busy. It was knocked down in 2008 during the tram works. Photo: National World

24. The Venue
The Venue opened as the Jailhouse on Calton Road back in the early 1980s. During its relatively short life, it served the city exceptionally well, introducing Edinburgh punters to an eclectic mix of traditional guitar-based bands and electronic acts before closing in 2006. Nirvana famously played here. Photo: Third Party
