But take a look at these old photos selected from the Evening News archive and see how different things looked back in the late 1960s.
And the places have changed a bit too. The pictures include a funfair at the long-gone Goldbergs department store and a Christmas carnival at the old Waverley Market.
There’s also a picture of a ship launch at the Henry Robb shipyard in Leith, which is no longer there,
