Exclusive first look at interiors of new Donaldson's flats

A team of specialist tradesmen have been working on the iconic former Donaldson's School building and have released exclusive images to the Evening News showing the luxurious interiors for the first time.

The computer generated images of the two-bedroom mezzanine, priced at £450,000, show the vision of the interior designers for the completed homes.

City and Country managing director Helen Moore said: “Our expert team of architects and historians began extensive investigations into the history of the building to better understand how it was originally constructed.

“This information informs our design details and restoration methods.

“It’s not a case of waiting for construction to be completed before our interior designers begin work; in fact it’s quite the opposite. As soon as we set eyes on the building at purchase stage we start to imagine what it could be like to live there.

“Donaldson’s is an iconic building that’s steeped in history and we were keen to make the interiors as show-stopping as the stunning exterior façade.”

Apartments at Donaldson’s will retain a mix of original features such as large historic windows, fireplaces and cornices, alongside contemporary features.

Ms Moore added: “Our clever internal design makes best use of the fabric of the building, allowing us to create some unique living spaces that maximise the building’s outstanding original features with a contemporary twist.”
