We’re spoilt for choice in Edinburgh when it comes to eating out. And though we said farewell to several popular businesses last year we also welcomed a wide range of new establishments, from Philly cheesesteak restaurant Phat Fellas, Corstorphine bakery Sweet Bella’s to Portobello based Nixo's Greek Street Food.
Here are 14 restaurants, cafés and bakeries that are worth checking out this year.

9. Guisados at the Bullfinch pub
Previously appearing at various bars and street food markets as a pop-up Mexican restaurant, Guisados now has a permanent residency at the Bullfinch pub in Leith. Showcasing the 'vibrant flavours of Mexico' their menu includes: totopos (house corn tortilla chips with fresh salsas), beef barbacoa and crispy beer-battered hake tacos. Taking its name form a traditional Mexican stew, Guisados was established by chef of 20 years, Jamie Hunter aka ‘El Cazador’ who has collaborated with the Bellfield Brewery, Pitt Street Food Market and the Bullfinch in the past– but this weekend marks the first time the grassroots pop-up has secured a permanent location.and . Everything is made fresh to order, with plenty of naturally gluten-free or plant-based options. Photo: Guisados

Serving dishes with signature Spanish fare including patatas bravas, Gambas pil pil, and Paella made on-site from Murcian Calasparra rice, Café Andaluz in Raeburn Place is open six days a week.
