Allan McCormick, a Scottish dad who send messages and videos of his penis while chatting to fake teenagers online was jailed.

The married father of two was caught by adult decoys from three vigilante gangs which were based in Edinburgh.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court was told the meeting was recorded and live-streamed on the three groups’ Facebook pages to thousands of viewers.

He was remanded in custody after his verdict was read on Friday, August 5.

A serial stalker and rapist who was branded “a danger to society” has been jailed during his sentencing, also on August 5.

At the High Court in Edinburgh, Ian Ramsay, an ex-soldier from Kelso, was jailed for 13 years and banned from contacting his victim for two decades after being convicted of 16 offences, including five counts of rape.

A former senior Scottish lawyer has been jailed for ten years after a catalogue of sexual abuse against four young children.

John Watt QC, 72, was extradited from America to stand trial earlier this year.

He was found guilty of one charge of rape, one of indecent assault and three of indecent conduct committed at houses in the Edinburgh area between September 1973 and August 1987.

Billy Stewart, who was a part of a six-strong gang who punched, kicked and stamped on victim Rhys Reynolds during a horror attack in Musselburgh in 2018 is back in prison.

He was just 16 at the time of the attack, and spent five years in a children’s unit near Glasgow.

Now aged 19, was released from custody on May 6 this year but was arrested just four weeks later in connection with assault on an inmate at Polmont YOI last year.

He pleaded guilty on August 8 and was sentenced to four months.

Jaroslav Mako, a child rapist, has been jailed for six years and eight months for his "horrendous conduct".

Mako took the 11-year-old primary pupil to an address in Pumpherston, in West Lothian, where he subjected her to the attack and rape on September 18 last year.

He was sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh on August 10 and was placed on the Sex Offenders' Register indefinitely.

Stewart Polson, 69, who targeted youngsters for repeated indecent assaults for more than a decade, has been jailed for 13 years.

The bulk of his offending took place between 1976 and 1989 and he was sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh on August 15.

His former partner David Sinclair, 63, who also joined him in some of the abuse against two girls was jailed for 45 months.

Both men were placed on the Sex Offenders' Register indefinitely.

An Edinburgh man who sexually assaulted a woman as she slept on his sofa has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register.

Bogdan Raczynski, 53, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of sexually assaulting the woman when he appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday, August 17.

Raczynski was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for a term still to be decided.

Graham Brown, who was caught with vile videos showing images of children engaged in solo masturbation and penetrative sex with adults and other children, has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register.

Brown, from Musselburgh, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday, August 22 where he pleaded guilty to possessing the indecent images of children over a 10-month period.

A Sinn Fein councillor who sexually assaulted a bar worker while on a stag night in Edinburgh city centre has also been placed on the Sex Offenders Register.

Cathal McLaughlin grabbed the waitress and touched her buttocks while in the Three Sisters Pub in October last year.

Alexander Thomson, 42, was convicted of 17 charges of rape and physical attacks between 2013 and 2019 across West Lothian.

A judge made Thomson the subject of an Order for Lifelong Restriction (OLR) meaning he may never be released.

He must also serve a minimum four years behind bars before he can attempt to have the OLR lifted.

Detective Chief Inspector Steven McMillan said: “Thomson is a dangerous, serial abuser who presents a threat to women.

"Today’s sentencing will hopefully ensure that others are kept safe from him. He inflicted some of the most horrendous and shocking abuse I’ve ever come across.”
