Hearts have made an official move to bring Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes to Tynecastle as they step up the search for Neil Critchley’s successor.
The 53-year old has delivered success with St Johnstone, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock throughout his time as a head coach in Scottish football and a big part of that has been his signings. It’s fair to say the former Rangers midfielder has a preference for UK based players which brings up the question of what that means for the current oversees players at Tynecastle and the club’s current recruitment process involving Jamestown Analytics.
Here are the 116 signings that McInnes made for Aberdeen and Kilmarnock:

13. David Goodwillie
Scored eight goals in 28 appearances during a two season spell with Aberdeen as his once promising career showed its first signs of decline. | SNS Group

14. Kenny McLean
Another who could be considered one of McInnes' most successful signings. Aberdeen paid a fee of £300k to St Mirren for his services and he was consistently one of their best performers over his two and a half year spell before moving to Norwich City. He has won 50 Scotland caps. | SNS Group

15. Jeffrey Monakana
The young Brighton winger arrived at Aberdeen on loan with much potential but was a flop at Pittodrie and unfortunately seems to have failed to make an impact at most of his subsequent clubs which included Carlisle United, Bristol Rovers and Mansifeld Town to name a few. | SNS Group

16. Donervan Daniels
The Centre back was a mid-season loan signing from West Brom and scored on debut in a 2-1 League Cup semi final defeat to Dundee United. That was the only highlight of his Dons stint and the Montserrat international now plays for EFL side Walsall. | SNS Group
