Hearts have made an official move to bring Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes to Tynecastle as they step up the search for Neil Critchley’s successor.
The 53-year old has delivered success with St Johnstone, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock throughout his time as a head coach in Scottish football and a big part of that has been his signings. It’s fair to say the former Rangers midfielder has a preference for UK based players which brings up the question of what that means for the current oversees players at Tynecastle and the club’s current recruitment process involving Jamestown Analytics.
Here are the 116 signings that McInnes made for Aberdeen and Kilmarnock:

17. Andrew Driver
The former Hearts favourite joined Aberdeen between transfer windows in March 2015 on a short term deal after leaving Huston Dynamo of the MLS. He made just one first team appearance for the club. | SNS Group

18. Graeme Shinnie
Aberdeen won the race to land the Inverness captain on a pre-contract and he made over 100 appearances in his first spell with the Dons before moving to Derby County and then Wigan Athletic | SNS Group

19. Danny Ward
Signed on loan from Liverpool and was excellent during the first half of the 2015/16 season which resulted in the English giants recalling him. His departure saw Aberdeen's form dip and he ended up not playing much of a part of Liverpool but has won 44 caps for Wales during his career and been a Premier League first choice keeper with Leicester City | SNS Group

20. Joe Nuttall
Was released from Manchester City's youth academy and signed his first senior contract with Aberdeen. Had loan spells in the Scottish lower leagues and EFL but managed just two first team appearances for the Dons and is now with Scunthorpe United. | SNS Group
