It’s the Capital city of Scotland and, we think, the best city in the world. Steeped in history and filled with striking architecture, green spaces, and some of the best restaurants and pubs – Edinburgh has something for everyone. If you’ve never been before and need a guide on the best places to visit, here you go.

13. Victoria Street and Grassmarket
The Diagon Alley-evoking colourful buildings of Victoria Street are worth a visit for the look alone, but there are plenty of restaurants and shops to visit along this curving cobbled street. And at the base you will find Grassmarket, the old square for public executions, which nowadays is alive with markets, pubs, and restaurants instead. Photo: Getty Images
