Trendy new Edinburgh restaurant offers posh take on chippy menu - but it still includes deep-fried Mars Bar

What an entrance! As Six by Nico Edinburgh West opens its doors, the swanky new restaurant is offering a sophisticated take on the ‘chippy tea’ – although it does include that old Edinburgh favourite, the deep-fried Mars Bar.

Six by Nico, which has another hugely-popular venue on Hanover Street, is famed for six-course tasting menus that change every six weeks – and the chippy-inspired menu also has six legs

The Chippie was the first ever menu that chef and founder Nico Simeone served at his original venue in Glasgow, and he’s excited to bring the latest version of this nostalgic and playful menu to his newest eateie on the Capital's Queensferry Street.

Nico said: “The Chippie first appeared back in 2017, so it’s great to be bringing back our much-loved debut menu consisting of the crowd favourite Irn Bru sorbet. We look forward to welcoming guests both new and regulars from today who we have come to know.”

The six courses, priced at £42 per person, feature an amazing take on all the chip shop classics – including scampi and a steak pie. Wine pairings for each course are also available for £32 per person.

The Chippie will be available until August 11 at Six By Nico Edinburgh West on Queensferry Street. Take a look through our photo gallery for a sneak peek at what you can expect.
