Busy Edinburgh route closed to traffic due to flooding after Storm Boelo brings heavy rain to Capital
It comes after Edinburgh was hit by heavy rain and strong winds over the weekend
A busy route through Edinburgh has been closed after heavy rain led to flooding.
Traffic is being diverted away from the Gogar underpass on the A8 Glasgow Road this morning (October 26) after heavy rain resulted in the normally-busy road being flooded.

In an update to drivers, Edinburgh Travel News said on X: “A8 Glasgow Road Gogar underpass is closed due to flooding - expect delays here.”
It was added that queues continued to build over the morning, with a large queue of traffic stretching back to Ratho Station at around 8am.
AA Route Planner has advised drivers that those travelling will be diverted onto Gogar Roundabout before rejoining Glasgow Road.
The closure comes after the Capital was battered by Storm Boelo over the weekend, which brought heavy rain and high winds.
Disruption was felt throughout the weekend, with train and transport services reporting cancellations and delays.
Attractions were also closed to the public during the storm weather, which brought gusts of up to 80mph to coastal areas.
An amber warning was in place for wind between 9pm on Saturday evening until 9pm on Sunday evening.
Edinburgh has also now been hit with another weather warning for wind, which will be in place from 3am until 9pm on Tuesday, October 27.
