Ms Jardine also urged the Scottish Government to use the additional funding it receives from the UK Budget to help families with the cost of living, including by matching the proposed £100 Council Tax reduction for households in bands A to D.

Christine Jardine MP said: “There is tremendous potential in this Budget to give families the breathing space they need with energy bills and the cost of living.

“I would urge the Scottish Government to use the additional funding it receives through consequentials to match these measures in Scotland, including a £100 Council Tax reduction for households in bands A to D, to help cut bills for families across Edinburgh West.

“Families are under real pressure, and we should be doing everything we can to ease that burden and put money back in their pockets.”
