Monday

A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with several incidents of assault in Edinburgh.

The charges include six assaults and other offences, which occurred in the Harrison Park, Bruntfield Links and Fountainbridge areas between Sunday, February 27 and Thursday, March 24.

An online bingo addict from East Lothian stole more than £6000 from her own sister to help feed her gambling habit.

Sheriff Matthew Auchincloss placed Rybak on a two-year supervision order and told her she must complete 120 hours of unpaid work in the community.

Tuesday

Police in Edinburgh released CCTV images of a man they believe may hold information on a serious assault which occurred in city centre last summer.

The man pictured has been described as white and slim with medium length light brown hair, somewhere between the age of 18 and 25.

Bus windows were smashed by vandals in Blackridge as police appeal for information.

Nobody was hurt thankfully but officers have emphasised that dangerous incidents like this can cause serious injury to both passengers and drivers.

Hibs star Ryan Porteous appeared in court accused of throwing a glass which struck a woman on the head outside a Midlothian nightclub.

Wednesday

A huge fire broke out at a single-storey garage in Leith on Tuesday night – and video captured by a local eyewitness shows smoke billowing into the air as firefighters battle the blaze.

A man who sent a “grossly offensive” tweet about Captain Sir Tom Moore the day after his death has avoided a jail sentence as he was handed a community payback order.

Joseph Kelly, 36, posted on Twitter that “the only good Brit soldier is a deed one, burn auld fella buuuuurn” on February 3 last year.

An Edinburgh councillor has spoken out about regular ‘motor biking rampage’ throughout the Sighthill and Gorgie area.

Thursday

A cyclist in Livingston was punched in the face after being approached in an underpass by two men early one morning last week.

One of them asked for a cigarette before they punched him in the face and made off with his bike, thankfully he did not need medical treatment.

A fire crew struggled to access the scene of a fire, due to a large amount of fly-tipping on a road in East Lothian.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to reports of a derelict building on fire near to Salter’s Road, Whitecraig, at 2.45pm on Tuesday, March 29.

A Birmingham dealer was caught in Edinburgh with a large quantity of drugs.

Dobson appeared at the city courtvia a video link from Polmont YOI where he admitted being concerned in supply of quantities of cocaine and diamorphine.

A thug threatened to shoot police officers during a disturbance at his partner’s home.

Ryan Campbell pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and did shout, swear and destroy property at an address in Mayfield, Midlothian, on March 16 last year.

Nicholas Hain, 41, was found guilty of several domestic abuse offences across Edinburgh, West Lothian, and East Lothian.

Friday

A 10-year-old has been robbed while walking in the Trinity area of Edinburgh.

The boy was walking to the park with his friends when the incident happened.

A man exposed himself to a woman on a street in Livingston before he attempted to follow her.

Detective Constable Shona Robertson of CID said : “The woman was extremely shocked by the man’s actions but was unhurt.”

Two young people have been charged by police, after an incident involving a Lothian bus.

The pair were apprehended by officers, after an incident in Edinburgh, where they held onto the back of a bus whilst it was in motion.
